Ichigo Ichie.

In Japanese, it literally means “one time, one meeting.” - An encounter that only happens once in a lifetime.

When I was 13, there was a small alley near where I lived, full of cherry blossom trees. In spring, I’d walk there with a friend of mine after school. One time I heard she saying, “The blossoms come back year after year, but none of them are the same as before. Isn’t every moment just so precious?”

I hear her still.
